Missionaries may read any communication they receive during the week whenever they have appropriate time to do so. They should reply to communication only on their preparation day unless it is a special occasion or an emergency as described in Missionary Standards.
Missionaries may communicate to family on their weekly preparation day via letters, emails, online messaging and audio/video chats. Preparation day ends at 6:00 pm.
Online messaging and audio/video chats with others outside of family are not approved except when companions together are arranging an appointment, or teaching a lesson. Connecting with others online for missionary purposes must be done as companions.
When online, missionary companions should be situated so they can see each other’s screen.
If you choose to send a package to your missionary, it is most efficient to place an order on Amazon UK and have it shipped to the MTC. Please use the following address:
Missionary’s Name
Missionary Training Centre
Temple Way
Chorley, United Kingdom
PR6 7EQ
Letters or packages to missionaries should come through Royal Mail or other commercial delivery services such as UPS, Fed Ex and Amazon. Please note that:
Delivery confirmation texts and emails from shipping services are not always accurate as to when packages actually arrive at the MTC. With various scanning points in the delivery process, we have found that these texts/emails are not always reliable.
If you have an Amazon shipment password, please share that code with your missionary, else we cannot receive the parcel.
Local Deliveries: Family and friends should not deliver things to missionaries at the MTC, during temple visits, gym time, over the MTC fence, or by any other unapproved delivery method.
